Gerasis Dimitris is a Greek painter working between cubist portraiture and lyrical landscape. His canvases break the face into planes of red, green and black, then reassemble them into figures that look back at the viewer with unsettling calm.

He paints mostly in acrylic on canvas, frequently building surfaces with found and natural materials — raw stone, wood, and textured plaster worked directly into the picture. Some of these mixed-media pieces date back more than fifteen years and remain central to how he thinks about a painting as an object.

Alongside the cubist work runs a quieter body of landscape painting: Greek rivers and spring foliage, a snow-lit Paris, the stone houses and ochre walls of village architecture. The two strands feed each other — the geometry of the portraits comes from looking hard at real places.
